In Chinese culture, there is a saying that “where there is shelter beneath the eaves, there is a place to return to.”

Qiyan drew inspiration from the eaves of traditional Chinese architecture. Its semi-enclosed, gently rising form creates a sense of shelter without feeling closed off. The wingback extends outward like an eave, creating a calm, relaxing space.

Highland Wingback Chair

Highland wingback creates a cocooning sense of personal space, even in an open or shared setting. The wingback design gently surrounds the user without restricting movement, offering a greater sense of privacy and comfort wherever Qiyan Lounge Chair is placed.

Deep Relaxation Seating Experience

The seat and backrest are set at a 104° angle, designed to support a deeply relaxed sitting posture. It strikes a comfortable balance between sitting upright and fully reclining, allowing the body to achieve deep relaxation.

The footrest slopes gently downward to follow the natural angle of the lower legs, creating a zero gravity seating experience.

Removable and Adjustable Headrests

The headrest is not fixed to the chair, but designed as a separate element to provide precise support for the neck.

The designers also made thoughtful use of simple physics in the headrest. A copper-plated stainless steel rod is inserted into the end of the hanging strap, allowing it to fall naturally into place when draped over the back of the chair. The adjustable height of the headrest accommodates users of different heights.

Four Upholstery Materials & Three Base Frame

Qiyan is available in two upholstery options: Nappa leather and chenille.

Nappa leather preserves its natural grain and texture while offering a soft hand, resilience, and supportive comfort.
Chenille features a blend of multiple tones woven together to create a soft, plush texture that feels gentle against the skin.

The base frame is crafted from FAS-grade ash wood, available in three finishes: black, coffee brown, and natural wood. The clearly defined natural grain adds warmth and enhances the overall character of the Qiyan Lounge Chair.
