Evolving the Shanghai Store

Evolving the Shanghai Store

Two years after opening, our Shanghai store has grown from 800 m² to 1,700 m². This is more than an expansion of space. It is grado's way of bringing design and everyday living even closer together.

After meeting and talking with thousands of visitors, we realized something important. People are not simply looking for a piece of furniture. They are looking for moments that help them imagine a happier way of living.

They do not want to see furniture displayed like museum pieces. They want to experience real spaces that feel warm, personal, and lived in.

When the space next to our Shanghai store became available, we asked ourselves one question: Should we expand?

Even in a challenging market, when a larger space meant greater investment and more complex operations, rather than choosing the safety of standing still, we chose to push beyond the limits of how people experience home.

The Biggest Challenge

The biggest challenge was completing the expansion without interrupting the experience of our visitors. While the original Shanghai store remained open every day, the new space was quietly transformed beside it.

The two buildings were very different, making the project even more demanding. Connecting the floors, opening the circulation, unifying the lighting, and balancing the structure all required thoughtful decisions. There was no template to follow. Every detail challenged our team's design vision and professional expertise.

We chose to preserve the original character of the building. The exposed red brick and raw concrete remain an important part of the space. Their industrial texture creates a beautiful contrast with grado's soft and inviting furniture. As warm light fills the room and you settle into the Grin Sofa, strength and softness exist together in perfect balance.

Perfect Continually

Expanding the Shanghai store was a long process of refinement. Every furniture arrangement, every circulation path, and every living scene was carefully considered by our designers and spatial consultants.

A Bigger Space, More Ways to Live

Today, 1,700 m² allows us to present more ways of living. There are quiet corners for personal moments and welcoming spaces for family and friends to gather.

grado has never wanted to define how you should live. Instead, we offer 1,700 m² of ideas, inspiration, and possibilities. When you walk through our doors, you are not simply looking at furniture. You are experiencing life itself.

The expansion of the grado Shanghai Store was never about creating another picture-perfect lifestyle. It was about leaving room for you to discover your own.

We believe a true home is never built by following a single style. It grows naturally around the people who live there. This new space is our sincere gift to every visitor and a new chapter in grado's journey.

Trends will change. Styles will come and go. But at grado Living, there will always be space for freedom beyond labels, and a place that feels like home.
