gado’s Mission to Transform Furniture Design
In 2009, Alex Chai founded a design studio offering services to brands and manufacturers. However, the challenges of the market quickly became apparent: designs were often copied, with some companies offering knock-offs for as little as $3,000. The viral news of the Swedish government destroying counterfeit Chinese furniture was a turning point for Alex and his team.
In 2013, determined to make a change, Alex launched gado, a direct-to-consumer furniture brand. Instead of just focusing on aesthetics, gado aims to combine practical craftsmanship, clear communication, and immersive customer experience.
grado's Story Begins
grado means "degree"in Italian. It reminds us to see designs from new perspectives, to pursue a simple and natural style,to design fumiture that are related to daily life closely. We try to bring fumiture back into the nature of "a houseware", a friendly object like something from the old days.
grado hopes that each product has its own unique story, transmitting our pursuit of quality and thinking about design. We care about your work, so much as it cares about your life. Our products are oriented to the needs of users and provide them with abundant recreation opportunities through creating friendly space and offering rich categories.

The Deqing R&D Center is where the design inspirations are realized.Founded in 2018, it has an over 12,000 SQM modern production workshop,dozens of furniture R&D engineers with over 20 years experience and more than 40 production employees.
W-Park Headquarters
Hangzhou WPark Headquarter is the birthplace of grado brand inspirations. Established in 2018,with more than 70 employees, it consists of Design Department, Marketing Department, Supply Chain Department, Domestic Sales Department, International Trade Department, Human Resource Department and Finance Department.

grado showroom is a place for sharing inspirations with customers, it is a port to obtain and satisfy our customers'needs. We listen to the users'demands and share the fruits of our research.
